Bend the hook at the ½ way mark on the shank. The Eye should be level with the hook point.

Add weight to the shank on the upper half that you bent.

Wrap thread below the bend toward the hook gap.

Tie in rubber tail and Chenille.

Move thread forward to the first set of legs at the ½ shank bend.

Move the thread forward to the second set of legs and tie in. Space should be even for the three set of legs from the ½ shank bend to the eye.

Tie in your third set of legs and advance thread to the head in front of the lead wrap.

Tie in your rubber antenna. Do a half hitch on your thread for the next process.

I have a rotary vise and wrap the chenille from the tail to the eye placing my legs in position as I wrap forward.

Tie off the chenille and whip finish. Add small amount of Zap a Gap, UV, or Glue to the thread.

Use the black marker to color the chenille. Remember the hook point will be riding up, so color the fly where the back of the fly is on the same side as the hook point.
